| Duncan Warden currently provides personal training to individual clients looking to improve their health, fitness, and quality of life, and provides intensive training to endurance athletes – from runners and triathletes to competition skaters – seeking to further enhance their skills and competitive edge. See Duncan's Certifications When Duncan was growing up, all kids played a variety of sports (and for good physical and mental growth, still should). For Duncan, before running and triathlons, it was soccer, hockey, baseball (where he began his coaching career early, leading a New Jersey Little League team as a teen), and anything to do with water and sun in the summer. A state and national caliber high school runner, Duncan went on to compete at the college / NCAA level while spending summers exploiting other athletic abilities as ocean life guard and tennis pro at a well-known Cape Cod resort. After graduating with twin focuses in running and engineering, he was recruited by General Dynamics for an engineering position in Connecticut. This is where he began training with a former NCAA Division I runner. After another year or two running 105 miles a week, Duncan was already on his way to becoming one of the early pioneers in the benefits of cross-training. He soon entered a local triathlon and saw the light. While continuing in the corporate world, eventually transitioning to MCI Worldcom’s Boston corporate office, Duncan also continued to refine the multi-faceted training program that enabled him to run at the national championship level while advancing from sprint triathlons to multiple distances. After spending years providing informal training to fellow competitive athletes, Duncan realized he was watching their results as well as his own consistently improve, and decided it was time to get serious. Shortly after, TRI-FYT was born. Duncan made the full-time leap from corporate engineering to training after obtaining a masters degree in exercise science, certification with the NCSF, NSCA, and coach status with USA Triathlon, the sport’s national governing body.
